I sincerely hope you can prove me wrong
Everybody needs an avatar that they can rely on
We sacrifice each other to our gods
I’m getting out
You’re one of us
Our disguises dream too
I’ve been drinking your eyes
Like holy water
Holy water
I’ve been spreading your lies
Like a lamb to slaughter
A lamb to slaughter
Faith isn’t blind
It’s been playing you the whole time
I sincerely hope this is all my fault
A beggar with a thousand faces and a lost cause
We tied our horses to each other’s plans
To seek our fortune in a foreign land
I’m getting out
While I still can
Nightmares are dreams too
Under your influence
Heady and innocent
Studied and passionate
As if you could care less
Anodyne reverence
Surrounds you and hems you in
Acolytes genuflect
Every night in your bed
Calumny, avarice
Tragically pacific
Following your bliss
Right into the abyss
Steal back your porcelain
Effigy off of him
You will be born again
Into my reverence
It never ends

Moaning have crafted a brilliantly focused, dissonantly beautiful, and a detachedly deep album. I often ask myself while listening to it, what if young Radiohead had made a post-punk record after The Bends instead of OK Computer? It's that good. Whatever genre this album belongs to, it transcends it and that is always the mark if a true artistic accomplishment. Andru A.
